LVDP ANTWERP BV, trading as Laurence Van de Perre (“we”, “us”, “our”), respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit laurencevandeperre.com, contact us or commission a piece, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have.
It is drawn up in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation, “GDPR”) and Belgian data protection law. It sits alongside our General Terms and Conditions and our Cookie Policy.

2. What we collect
We only collect what we genuinely need. Depending on how you deal with us, that may include:
When you enquire, book an appointment or ask for a quote
Name, email address, telephone number, and whatever you tell us about the piece you are looking for.
When you commission a piece
Billing and delivery address, ring size and other measurements, design preferences, inspiration material you send us, engraving text, and the details of your order and invoice.
When you ask us to reuse your gold or stones
A written record of the materials you entrust to us, their assessed value, and the receipt we issue you.
When we are legally required to identify you
Identity document details and, in some cases, information on the origin of funds or materials. We collect this only where Belgian anti money laundering rules oblige us to, as described in section 20 of our General Terms and Conditions.
When you subscribe to our newsletter
Your email address and a record of when and how you consented.
When you create an account on our website
Name, email address, an encrypted password, and your order history.
When you simply visit the website
IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and referring page. See our Cookie Policy for detail.
We do not collect or store card numbers. We do not knowingly collect any special category data, and we ask you not to send us any.
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- Answering enquiries, quoting and booking appointments. Basis: steps taken at your request before entering a contract, Art. 6(1)(b).
- Designing, making, delivering and repairing your piece. Basis: performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b).
- Managing your customer account. Basis: performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b).
- Recording and valuing materials you entrust to us. Basis: performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b).
- Invoicing, accounting and tax records. Basis: legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c).
- Identity verification under anti money laundering law. Basis: legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c).
- Sending our newsletter. Basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a).
- Keeping a record of your piece so we can service it years later. Basis: our legitimate interest in aftercare and provenance, Art. 6(1)(f).
- Securing the website and preventing fraud. Basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f).
- Establishing or defending a legal claim. Basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f).
Where we rely on consent you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of anything done before you withdrew it.
4. How long we keep it
- Invoices and accounting records: 7 years from the end of the financial year, as Belgian tax law requires.
- Anti money laundering identification records: 10 years after the transaction, as the law requires.
- Order, design and commission files: 10 years, so we can resize, repair or authenticate the piece and prove its provenance.
- Customer account: while the account is active, then 2 years after your last activity.
- Enquiries and appointment requests that do not lead to an order: 2 years from our last exchange.
- Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe, then 12 months to evidence that consent was validly obtained.
- Website and cookie data: as set out in our Cookie Policy.
5. Who else sees it
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.
We share it only with parties who need it to do their job for you:
- Webflow, Inc., for hosting and running this website
- Our shipping partners, insured courier services, for delivery of your piece
- Our workshop and setting partners in Antwerp, who receive only the technical detail they need to make your piece
- Certification laboratories (GIA, IGI, HRD), where a stone is sent for certification
- Our accountant, our insurer and, where needed, our legal advisers, all bound by professional confidentiality
- Public authorities, only where we are legally obliged to disclose
Transfers outside the EEA. Our website host is established in the United States. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area we rely on appropriate safeguards: the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified, or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for a copy of those safeguards at contact@laurencevandeperre.com.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access your data and receive a copy of it
- Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
- Erase it, where no legal obligation requires us to keep it
- Restrict how we process it, in certain circumstances
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and at any time to direct marketing
- Receive your data in a structured, machine readable format
- Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it
Email contact@laurencevandeperre.com to exercise any of these. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We will answer within one month, extendable by two further months if the request is complex, and we will tell you if we need that extra time.
Please note that where the law obliges us to keep a record, in particular invoices and anti money laundering files, we cannot delete it on request.

7. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data: an encrypted connection across the whole site, access limited to the few people who need it, and providers chosen for their own security standards. Records of the materials you entrust to us are kept with the same care as the materials themselves.
8. Children
Our website and our products are not directed at children under 16, and you need to be at least 18 to order from us. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The version published on this page is always the one in force, and the date at the top tells you when it was last revised. We will bring material changes to your attention where the law requires it.
